Kitchen Aid Ice Cream Maker Attachment
The Kitchen Aid Ice Cream attachment or KICA as we call it, is one of my favorites. It just takes few minutes to make fresh ice cream, sorbet or sherbet with the help of KICA. There is no need to drag out another appliance. Just grab the ice cream bowl from your freezer and add your favorite ice cream recipe.
To use the Kitchen Aid Ice Cream attachment remember to freeze the bowl at the coldest temperature setting for at least 15 hours ahead of time. When you’re ready to start take the KICA from the freezer and then assemble it on your stand mixer.
Drop the dasher into the bowl and then add the adapter. Press the adapter up and over the beater shaft. If you’re mixer has a spring on the beater shaft use the shorter side if not use the longer side of the adapter.Turn the stand mixer on, to a stir speed and add your ingredients.

It’s important to remember to turn your stand mixer around before you add your ingredients or they can freeze immediately. After a few minutes, the ingredients will thicken. You will then hear a clicking sound. It’s almost time to enjoy your ice cream.
Turn the stand mixer up and raise the mixers head. Scrape the ice cream from the dasher with a silicon spatula and then scrape the ice cream from the ice cream bowl and to a freezer container or enjoy it right from the bowl. Homemade ice cream has never been easier.
