As the word suggests, it is iced-cream. It is made of dairy products combined with fruits, flavors, colors and essences to be served and consumed in a frozen condition. Ice creams are available in many different flavors such as Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry, Mango and Banana. Th ice cream market is very big and there are many big, reputed manufactures of ice cream. The most popular companies are Baskin-Robins, Breyers, Dairy Queen, Double Rainbow, Dreyers, Ben and Jerry’s and Temptation to name few.
Home made ice cream has its own charm but one can seldom match the taste, flavors and consistency of commercially made ice creams. Normally the adventure of home made ice cream start with purchase of Ice cream maker, getting recipes by internet download and purchase of various ingredients like flavors, food colors etc. Ice cream makers come with an electrical stirrer or one has to hand-stir the mixture. These makers use chilling mixture which has to be pre-chilled, or the entire machine has to be refrigerated. Initially it is all fun and economics are apparently better over ready made market ice cream. After few rounds of home manufacturing this enthusiasm dies away and one returns to time tested ready made ice cream.
