Homemade Strawberry Ice Cream
The official day of spring has come, and gone. The stores are starting to feature fresh strawberries in the produce department. Most of these strawberries are coming in from the field in Southern California this time of the year. I want to remind you to be sure and wash them well before you eat them. The strawberries are sure looking good too and fresh always has the best nutritional value. Although it isn’t hot outside yet it is the perfect time of the year to do something with those fresh strawberries!
I ran across a great site with a delicious looking recipe for home made strawberry Ice Cream. She uses an ice cream machine but there are lots of recipes out there for ice cream that does not require an ice cream making machine, just use the freezer. What a nice treat and fun to do with the kids on family night. Teaching your children to cook, boys and girls, will be to all your benefits and what better way to start than with a treat made with fresh strawberries, wholesome dairy products; and they will love to share in the proceeds.
So pick up your fresh strawberries and some fresh cream. Nothing tastes as good as homemade and everyone loves ice cream.
